Eventia celebrate at the Barbican Hall

In the world famous Barbican Hall, home to the London Symphony Orchestra, 130 delegates from Eventia the official trade body for the events and live marketing industry, learnt to play as an Orchestra in less than 2 hours.

Facilitated by Catalyst UK, the evening provided an opportunity for buyers and organizers to experience musical team building activity, Orchestrate! first hand. In Orchestrate, participants learn to play an instrument guided by a trained musician and their part in a chosen piece. All instrumental groups finally come back together to play as one.

"I would just like to say how enjoyable the showcase was at the Barbican last night. It was a really thrilling experience to be part of an exciting showcase. I am a musician but thought the way in which you brought a disparate group of people together, with virtually no musical experience, to perform that one piece in such a short space of time was fantastic. I will certainly consider this type of event when planning future team building events within BT."Judith Weekes, Business Support Manager, BT

This unique exercise uses the symphony orchestra as a metaphor teamwork, allowing non-musicians access to real instruments, a conductor and an especially composed piece of music.

"The evening was an overwhelming success with the team behind Orchestrate! fully demonstrating its application as a powerful tool to engage delegates and bring inspirational company values to life."Izania Downie, Executive Director, Eventia
